The Liaison Group Announces Erin Moffet as Director of Strategic Communications and Policy Advisor

Washington, D.C. – October 4, 2022 – The Liaison Group (TLG) announces expansion with the addition of Erin Moffet as Director of Strategic Communications and Policy Advisor. Moffet brings to TLG over 12 years of congressional and state government experience where she worked to move federal cannabis reform forward through both policy and communications roles.

Ms. Moffet joins TLG after nearly four years with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) where she served as Commissioner Nikki Fried’s Deputy Chief of Staff and oversaw the federal affairs and communications offices of the department. During this time, the department established Florida’s inaugural hemp program following its federal legalization in the 2018 Farm Bill, with the state program creating an estimated $370 million economic impact in its first year of operations under FDACS’ regulatory authority. As federal affairs director, Ms. Moffet also oversaw the Commissioner’s engagement with members of the Florida Congressional Delegation and relevant congressional committees in support of federal cannabis reform.

Prior to joining FDACS, Ms. Moffet spent over nine years on Capitol Hill handling policy work and overseeing communications operations for several members of Florida’s Congressional Delegation who served on the House Committees on Rules, Financial Services, and Appropriations. In her last year on the Hill, Ms. Moffet spearheaded legislation to prohibit federal employment discrimination against state-legal cannabis consumers.

Ms. Moffet received her MA in Government from Johns Hopkins University and her BA in Political Science from Elon University.
